Well little brother Timmy had a blanket
He carried it around from year to year
Every time we saw it, it was a little more worn and a little bit smaller
It was something Timmy held so dear
But yesterday he turned a corner
Woke up and he saw the light
He threw away that ragged blanket
Without a struggle or a fight
And we hope thats the end of it
Hope thats the end of it
we hope thats the end of it
It was time for that thing to go
Well what can you say about brother Timmy
Hes always been the sentimental kind
He fished that dirty blanket from the trashcan in the backyard
It was underneath a stinky pile of slime
We thought that he had turned a corner
Apparently it wasnt true
But that old blanket smelled so bad
He threw it down the laundry chute
And we hope thats the end of it
Hope thats the end of it
we hope thats the end of it
It was time for that thing to go
Well the blanket met its maker in the lint trap
I guess we washed it one too many times
But Timmy didnt cry, he didnt even come unraveled
He just turned around and looked us in the eye
He said ÒThink I might have turned a corner
Finally I have seen the light
Its alright to let things go now
Its okay to say goodbye
And we hope thats the end of it
Hope thats the end of it
we hope thats the end of it
It was time for that thing to go
